Advice on Finding the Right Hair and Makeup Artist

The most important day of your life is approaching, and hair and make up is probably the last thing you want to be stressing about. Whilst some women prefer to do their own hair and make up on their big day, others decide to hire a professional make up artist. It is recommended to hire a professional make up artist to give you that flawless look that will really show in your photos. Hiring a hair and make up artist may be that little extra cost but it will save you a lot of time and worry.

Whilst we don’t all have a dab hand with the foundation brush, many professionals do. Hiring the perfect make up artist is absolutely essential to give you that wedding look you’ve always wanted. So how do you go about it?

Word of mouth

There is no marketing tool as powerful as word of mouth. Ask your friends, seek recommendations for a good make up or hair artist within your price range.

Search online

If you haven’t had any recommendations through friends then search online through blogs and forums. This will heighten your chances of finding a well-established make up or hair artist that is accessible to you. Search the internet for make up artists websites as this will display their portfolios so you can have a look at their previous work and determine whether they are right for you! Search the web for the perfect wedding hair and if any make up artists mirror the style you desire then go for them!

Accessibility

Before hiring a make up artist you need to make sure that they are going to be available on the date – this is crucial! Furthermore, you may want to ensure they are located not too far away from you to prevent delays on the big day. It might be a good idea to have a back up plan to avoid any wedding day disasters!

Experiment

You might not yet know what kind of make up style you want to achieve on your wedding day. Even if you haven’t got a great artistic streak, it might be worth watching some make up tutorials and practice on yourself just to get an idea of the colours and products you might want your make up artist to use. The same goes with hair; it can easily go wrong if you don’t know what you want so get a good idea in mind of exactly the look you want to go for!

The great thing about hiring a make up and hair artist is that they can achieve the look you want and also advise you on what style and colours will suit you. Book in advance to avoid disaster, and hire a great photographer to really show you off on your special day!

How to find the perfect wedding car?

Your Wedding Day – the start of your new life together and possibly the most memorable occasion you’ll ever have.

wedding hair

Every aspect of this all-important day requires absolute attention and none more so than your wedding car – the vehicle that will start the journey of your new life together.

hire the perfect limo

Since it’s so important, we’ve put together these guidelines to keep in the forefront of your mind when you hire the perfect limo or car for your wedding.

1. How many people? – Before you even think about choosing the car you’d like, you need to know the number of people you are transporting. This will determine the size of your cars and limos as well as how many you’ll need.

2. Colour – Usually, this depends on your chosen theme. Once you’ve chosen the theme it’s pretty straightforward getting a car to match.

3. Modern or classic – This will whittle down your choice hugely. A classical wedding would be more suited to a vintage wedding car like a Regal Landaulette. A modern wedding, on the other hand, might better suit a Mercedes S500.

4. Drivers – Chosen the car? Now you need a friendly driver. Show him the route and get him to do some trial runs – that way nothing can go wrong. Enquire about the driver’s dress code because you might want him to open the door for you.

5. Extras – You’ll need to pick the colour of the ribbons for the car. The limo and wedding car hire company can advise you on the types of ribbons to recommend for the chosen car.

Remember:

- Hire your limo or wedding car well in advance because companies operate on a first come first serve basis.

- Once you’ve booked the limo or wedding car, go and see it in person – checking both the inside and outside, including how comfortable it is.

5 Top Tips for Glowing Skin…..

Great skin can be hereditary but can also be the result of a good skin-care regime and healthy lifestyle. Some skin complaints may have complex causes such as hormone interference or a medical condition whilst others are a by-product of unhealthy living and external influences. Before consulting a skin clinics dermatologist, taking a look at skin care habits may pinpoint some reasons for lacklustre skin, which can be improved by making some simple changes.

  1. Use Sunscreen – Spending time outdoors without using sunscreen, even in dull weather, can lead to lines, wrinkles and mottled skin. Wearing a sunscreen that protects against UVA and UVB rays, with a minimum of SPF 30 will help prevent further damage especially if applied every two to three hours. Tanning beds have the same effect on skin so should be avoided.
  1. Smoking – Smoking causes dull skin, premature ageing and nasty lines around the mouth. Smoking is not only bad for the appearance, it is also damaging to health. Speak to a GP about help with giving up smoking, or consult a pharmacist about the various products available to help quit the habit then reap the benefits with improved skin and health.
  1. Keep Skincare Simple – Overloading the skin with products in an attempt to create perfect skin just doesn’t work. Some products cancel out the benefits of others and using many different ingredients can cause skin irritation. Dermatologists recommend a simple skincare regime involving cleansing, toning, moisturising and using products like retinol which can boost collagen, lighten brown spots and improve skin texture. And of course applying sunscreen should be added to the skincare regime to protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
  1. Lead A Balanced Life – Stress, poor diet and lack of sleep all contribute to dull tired skin. Getting seven or more hours of good undisturbed sleep and exercising regularly keeps the body healthy and will reflect on the skin. Regular sleep promotes cell turnover and the production of collagen whilst exercise boosts circulation and encourages nutrient flow to the skin. Exercise can also keep stress in check reducing the release of stress hormones, which can worsen skin conditions such as acne. Eating well with plenty of fruits and vegetables in the diet, adequate fibre and a balanced intake of protein, carbohydrates and fats will keep skin healthy, and nourish it from within.
  1. Adjust Skincare Products Seasonally – Whilst the skincare regime should be kept simple, changing moisturiser from an oil free light summer cream to a more emollient winter cream makes sense when cold weather and central heating can deplete the skin of moisture.

Attaining good skin can be a mix of common sense, good health habits and a simple regime. If skin problems persist, then professional help should be sought.
