A Glam Guide to Glastonbury

The States may have Coachella but we have Glastonbury, one of the greatest music festivals in the UK. Like most events, this festival is so much more than just about the music, especially as you are bound to see some famous faces there. Alexa Chung and Kate Moss are regulars to this massive music event. Fashionistas like that ensure that your festival fashion game must be strong.

The rules for a music festival are a little different compared to other events. For instance, boho is the name of the game. It does not really matter what your fashion sense is like the rest of the year. At Glastonbury, whimsical is the trend to follow. Check out this site to see what some of your gypsy-esque choices are. Here are some tips that will help you navigate the screaming masses at Glastonbury 2016:

Fringe is Your Friend

As mentioned, boho is the reigning theme at Glastonbury. This means that at least one item of your clothing or your accessories must contain some serious fringe. Choose a cute t-shirt or camisole that is fringed at the bottom for some instant air conditioning. You can also have a slouchy shrug that is fringed along the sleeves or the hem. If you would like to only partake slightly in this trend, simply add a fringed bag to your ensemble, you will fit right in.

This is equal parts fashion and health. The last thing you want is a headache after spending too much time in the sun. And, sunglasses are also a must have fashion item. For an ultra-cool girl look, stick with Aviators. If you still want to stick with a boho theme, try a pair of multi-coloured Wayfarers to complement your wonderland look. Whichever you choose, make sure they offer the right level of protection.

Denim Shorts

Denim shorts and Glastonbury go together like models and rock stars. It is a trend that began in 2013 and shows no signs of dissipating. If you do not want to be the odd one out, it is best that you take a pair along with you. It seems to be that shorter is better in terms of general consent. You can meander from the crowd conforming trend of blue jeans however. This is your chance to add some colour to your outfit. You can even go for rainbow colours; it is Glastonbury after all.

It is tempting to take some of your nicer boots to Glastonbury but there is no guarantee that the weather will cooperate. This is why many people choose to take their wellies with them when they attend. Not as many seem to make it back with their owners, however. Pick a cute pair to take with you just in case it does begin to rain. This way you will not spend the festival with mud between your toes, yet you’ll still look good.

There aren’t any hard and fast rules to fashion at a music festival, particularly Glastonbury. If you do not want to stick out like a sore thumb, however, it is best to follow these guidelines. Oh, and don’t forget your flower headband!
