Dannique, Beauty Call franchisee for South East London tells all (and it’s really simple!)
Long before Kim Kardashian let the secret out on this huge trend, voguing ‘Queens’ were parading this now popular makeup look all over New York and Paris.
Contouring is simply a way of shading your makeup to create the illusion of smaller and more defined features. With contouring you can create a supreme feminine look by shading in super high cheekbones and a beautifully uniformed nose, chin and jawline.
There are loads of different ways to recreate this look but my favourite and probably the simplest is by using two cream foundations or concealers. One foundation should be 2-3 shades lighter than your own skin tone and the other 2-3 shades darker.
Bobbi Brown Foundation Sticks are great for this:
- First begin by highlighting the high points of the face by drawing an upside down triangle shape with the lighter foundation under the eyes up to the temples, a straight line up the bridge of your nose, upside down triangle in the middle of your forehead and a straight line up the middle of your chin.
- Contour the shadows of the face by drawing lines with dark foundation along the jawline, under the cheekbones and along both outside edges of the nose between the highlight.
- Then blend the 2 foundations together to create a flawless and well-defined base add a loose translucent powder, apply blusher, lipstick and mascara.
