Today was a very special day for my next client. I had the great honour of doing the hair and makeup for the inspirational Carmel Gahan.
Carmel was honoured with the Life Time Achievement Award at Buckingham Palace by The Queen. Carmel is receiving the Award for her outstanding contribution and support to hundreds of businesses creating and sustaining thousands of jobs across the country.
I wanted to create a soft, youthful and glamorous look for Carmel whilst still ensuring she felt comfortable and not like a different person.
A few key tips when applying makeup for mature skins:
- Use warm peachy tones under the eye to reduce the appearance of puffiness.
- Keep blushers warm and again use peachy/pinky tones for a a fresh youthful look and to brighten up the complexion.
- Don’t over powder the face as it will only enhance the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- A little goes a long way! Use your products carefully and sparingly – don’t always concentrate on concealing every line and wrinkle but instead draw focus other features such as the eyes.
