I love trying out new makeup products but, I have to say, I’m normally quite dubious about spending money on a product when I don’t know what it’s like… hence why I always try and get samples of products first.
I was lucky enough to test the following:
Primer – A silicon-based, satin-finish primer that helps keep makeup looking fresh all day. I really like this primer as it’s so lightweight – it absorbs excess oils and minimises the appearance of pores and it’s very similar to my current Screenface primer, only cheaper.
Pressed Powder – A velvety-smooth powder that absorbs shine while setting makeup to create an even and flawless finish. I’ve been using MAC powder for years but I would quite happily swap to this product as I think it gives better coverage and it lasts a lot longer.
Blusher – Great pigment and colour intensity which lasted all day. I would normally go for a bronze coloured blusher, but this soft pink/peach colour looked great on my skin.
Brow Kit – A good little kit for shaping, grooming, and defining your brows. The kit contains wax to sculpt the brows and two powder shades to create a natural look. The powder gives a much nicer finish than pencil and it stays put, no touch-ups necessary.
Lipstick – A creamy lipstick containing Vitamin E for luscious lips. This particular shade was a nice neutral pink colour that moisturises your lips with every application. A staple lipstick for any makeup bag!
Lip Treatment – A refined lip balm that soothes, re-plumps, hydrates, and protects the lips. This promises bigger lips after a month of use when applied 3 times a day! Although I haven’t used this for a month yet, it seems like a good little product and makes a nice change to Carmex.
Overall I’m very impressed with the selection of makeup that I’ve tried and I’m also quite surprised at the prices, very affordable. I’ll definitely be adding some Motives products to my kit and using them on my brides for bridal makeup in Hertfordshire.
