The National Wedding Shows

Well what a couple of weeks – we have been busy bees at the National Wedding Shows in Earls Court and at the NEC in Birmingham, where we worked our socks off doing mini makeovers and giving out our info to hundreds of lovely brides.

Now the follow up work starts – wish us a luck, it’s a big job!

Lots of girls getting married in April and Aug next year – get your best available artist booked in asap!!

We were giving out little Beauty Call lip balms as freebies – they are perfect bridal handbag size for your big day – contact me at the office if you want one – [email protected]

Interestingly we did lots of trials for short hair and super long hair – it’s harder to find images online – with the lady below having hair down to her knees!

One of our neighbouring stands at the Earls Court Show was the lovely, and highly recommended photographers Juliet Lemon. She was up for best blog awards in London the other night – so we sent Inga to go make her gorgeous and here’s a pic to show we don’t just make brides look gorgeous!

Another of our neighbours was Tapenade catering and their team – I know Kat from her previous life as a wedding coordinator at Horsley Towers so it was great to be surrounded by friendly faces!

Other tenuous links were made with Jemma Beatie – the new coordinator at Hever Castle who’s cousin we made over at the show, and also my little girls nursery head, Hazel from Advantage Day Nursery in Surbiton, whose daughter is getting married in 2015 – ‘you’re booked’ she mouthed to me as I juggled hair pins, gave advice and showed images from our look book!

Out ‘tweet for a treat’ went down really well with lots of you getting involved and tweeting or facebooking for us – thank for getting involved – it would have been even better if the internet was better at these big halls – finding a connection is the bane of my life sometimes!

I visited the amazing Covent Garden Flower Market where I managed to pick up some great blooms for the stand – so pretty that we were asked more than once if we were florists! One step too far for me I feel – best ask our friends Faye and Ali at ‘Lavenders of London’ about all things green!!

In the words of Shakin Stevens (for those of us old enough to remember) I’ll stick to ‘lipstick, powder and paint’!!
