Olympic fever has literally hit home for me with the Olympic Torch relay making its way through the London boroughs mid July and finally passing through my hometown Lewisham on 23rd July.
I had loads of fun mingling with locals and passing homemade cups of teas round whilst waiting in anticipation to catch a glimpse of the burning torch. The celebrations did not disappoint and the end of the morning saw me snatching a cheeky hug from the most frightful torchbearer of them all 🙂
The Opening Ceremony was aired live on The Big Screen in Blackheath. Wasn’t it a wonderfully nostalgic, travel through memory lane? There were a fair few of us singing along to the various tracks reminiscing about where we were when we first heard them.
The next day came with more celebrations with an Olympic themed Vintage Fair in honour of the last 1948 London Olympics at The Goose Centre in East Dulwich.
It was Vintage Hair and Makeup galore – I’m now a Victory roll & flicked cats eyes pro 🙂
