September kicked off on the first of the month with Emma Jowett’s fabulous vintage wedding at Harrogate Theatre.
Emma had chosen a beautiful 1930’s style dress with a vintage headpiece and naturally wanted a look to match.
She chose to go for a finger wave style hair do which worked perfectly with her bobbed hair. To create the hair rather than spend time finger waving I cheated by using my Babyliss Pro Triple Barrell Waver.
It gave a great vintage waved effect and Emma was surprised how quickly it worked and loved the result!
We kept the make-up very classic for both Emma and her Mum. The Bridesmaids also all had their hair done, each choosing their own relaxed up do. Emma sent me the following lovely email:
‘‘Hi Alison, I just wanted to drop you a quick email to thank you for all your help on the wedding morning. My make-up and hair stayed perfectly put all day …. even after much dancing into the small hours. I had so many compliments on the vintage look, and the make-up and hair looks great in our photos. I know the Bridesmaids and my Mum were also very pleased. You were so lovely and calming on the morning too … I enjoyed just sitting and chatting to you amidst my wedding day nerves. Thank you!”
I attended my first Autumn Wedding Fair of the year in September at Xscape Snozone near Leeds.
It was great meeting and chatting to potential brides as well as other suppliers. I had a bit of a panic as none of the flyers/price cards I had ordered arrived on time but I managed to find enough business cards to see me through the fair!
I also managed to squeeze in a fab ten day holiday to Spain! It was great to unwind and switch off and thanks to Phil at Beauty Call for handling my enquiries whilst I was away!
