So far August has been a very busy month of wedding hair and makeup in Yorkshire for many beautiful brides, bridesmaids and many more to makeover. I also managed to fit in a great shoot with some amazing local Yorkshire wedding suppliers!
The shoot was organised by Steph from SB Events whose vision of a beautifully styled Grecian themed shoot, at the stunning Scampston Hall came together perfectly.
The lovely ladies from Todd & Moore Photography began capturing the day straight away with some great behind the scenes shots, before they got underway shooting the beautiful images of the models.
I decided to go for a bronzed make-up look to tie in with the Grecian theme. For model ones’ (the model) eyes I chose MAC Nylon shadow as a highlighter on the brow bone before taking my trusty Urban Decay Naked2 palette from which I used the chopper shadow from the inner corners and across the lid. This was then blended in the socket line and around the eye with Snakebite (for a soft smokey effect) and finished off with the Bobbi Brown gel liner in Black.
Model one’s skin was buffed with Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and a light dusting of translucent powder. A touch of Bobbi Brown Blush in Nectar added warmth to the look, to which I then added Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Thalia across the cheekbones for a great bronzed glow. I then completed the look with a nude lip by using Bobbi Brown lip sheer in Bobbi.
We decided to keep the hair down and quite boho for the first shots. I straightened model one’s hair to smooth it out before then adding a few soft waves which worked perfectly with the beautiful floral headpiece that had been made by ‘Flowers by Joanna Keeley’.
By this time The Harrogate Wedding Lounge had arrived with 2 truly amazing dresses ready to dress model one and get the shoot underway (not forgetting a couple of fab suits for our male model Mungo from Humphrey and Tilley!).
We then headed outside ready for the first setting which was the stunning Palladian Bridge over the river in the gardens of Scampston Hall. The Palladian Bridge has recently been granted a wedding licence so any brides hoping for an outdoors wedding should get in touch with the team at Scampston Hall!
It then came to change dresses in the afternoon which also meant a change in hairstyle. We decided an up do would be perfect to show of the back of the very elegant and glam dress. I wanted to do a style that involved plaits, it fits in with the theme of the shoot and plaits seem to be big news in wedding hair right now! The Harrogate Wedding Lounge provided a lovely hairpiece, I then decided to do a dutch plait that snaked around the head from which I took the end of the plait and curled it round to pin at the back. Glam and showed of the dress beautifully!
The end images look amazing, so a big shout out to all involved!
