A rainy but busy July for Alison, wedding hair and makeup Yorkshire

As I’m sure you would imagine a lot of recent weddings fell on rainy days! Much of the time getting brides ready has also been reassuring them that the weather won’t spoil their day! A thunder storm broke out just as I was putting the finishing touches to one bride!

One bride who was lucky with the weather and had a beautiful sunny day was Em (who’s bridesmaid bought her a bottle of champers with a rather fetching wedding dress on!). Em’s venue was the fabulous Red Lion in Burnsall.

Red Lion, Burnsall, YorkshireI’ve done a couple of weddings here now and absolutely love the idyllic setting of the Yorkshire Dales with a river flowing through the quaint village of Burnsall and past the garden of the Red Lion. The Red Lion was actually even featured on ‘Don’t Tell The Bride‘ not to long ago as well!

BBC's Don't tell the BrideI also went to a fab new venue this month for Renee’s wedding, over the Yorkshire Moors – this time to Whitby at Cross Butts Stables. An amazing venue that apparently until the foot and mouth outbreak was a working farm – so it was forced to close and turned into a fantastic venue/restaurant! The old stables have been converted into amazing rooms with beautiful four poster beds 🙂

Cross Butts Stables, Yorkshire MoorsRenee wanted to look like a princess for her big day and she truly did! Big flowing curly hair which I curled using a curling wand and a dusting of ‘Schwartzkopf Got 2 Be‘ volumising powder massaged into the roots – this really is a wonder product.

Schwartzkopf Got 2 BeRenee wanted to me to use her own foundation on her, which was the new YSL Touche Eclat foundation. I’ve never used it before but it gave Renee a flawless glowing complexion that she really wanted, well worth a try!!
