Happy 2014! And what a happy start it has been for me Grace. I’m looking forward to a very busy year of wedding hair and makeup: I’ve always been one of those people: ‘New Year, New Me!’ but if you’re anything like me that stops having effect from about now, mid January.
This year is different, I have done my research. No one can completely change their lives – (weight) within just a couple of weeks…
It’s all about a slow lifestyle change and progress throughout the whole year. So instead of my usual New Years resolutions – Lose weight, get fit, etc…
It is now (in the words of Bobby McFerrin) – Be Happy!
This can mean whatever you want it to mean. To me, it is to live in the now, invest in good friendships, eat well, conquer a fear, drink more water, be kind to yourself, get a massage once in a while (VidaTeddington!).
It is amazing what these things can do to your body & soul…..and skin!
I’m not going to lie, I had some help with these resolutions.

I’m not a big fan of gyms so I have sought out other methods I’m more likely to stick to like running in the amazing (Richmond Park), swimming and I hate to admit it – Yoga. I always like to be slightly different in my own way, so when people started shoving YOGA in my face, I looked the other way but it seems half the world are on to something. Not only does it stretch and strengthen your core but it relaxes your whole body and clears your mind completely which enables you to concentrate and work better. I do believe the teacher can make or break the experience (Kingfisher Wednesday Nights).
Another little thing that makes me happy is this box that arrives at my door step every month (Glossybox). It’s only about £10 a month and it contains all these mini products to try out. Last month, along with all the other goodies I got an ‘Intuition razor’ for sensitive skin and this month I got a great pair of tweezers which both would amount to more than £10 alone. It’s proof that the little things in life can make you smile.
